Professional Practice: 3 Days of work at Shades of Ink.
I have been in contact with Shades of Ink tattoo studio and have secured a placement for three days commencing in early April. The shortness of this time is in part due to the owner, Vince, having a new young son and said he is taking somewhat of a backseat to tattooing for a couple of weeks in order to spend time with his family. Either way I cannot wait to start working with him and see what I learn!

For my professional practice module I am planning on spending time at a tattoo studio to see what, if anything I can learn that may influence my own practice as a fine art painter. I have already set up a period of time with a tattooist, Vince, whom I will be working alongside with at his studio Shades of Ink, in Aylesbury. A two day open space exhibition with a collection of works prominently from second year practice. Having an open studio gave not only me but the attendees to see my work in its natural form, in that of a working studio space. It was fantastic to also have people walking around all the studios as it encouraged brilliant dialogue between the viewers and the artists.
